We’re live… and in colour!

I’m excited to launch my new website photopainter.ca! This website brings together all my colourization work, which include historical family photos from my own collection and several galleries of early British Columbian photos. You can also view the City of Rainbows gallery which contains all the photos of Prince Rupert I’ve colourized to date, going back to the early 1900s.

To celebrate this milestone, I am offering to colourize for free any Prince Rupert-themed photo from the Prince Rupert City and Regional Archives, the BC Archives or from your own collection. Just upload a photo or link through my website, and I’ll add it to my colourization queue. If you are having trouble finding the photo, let me know the subject and general time frame, and I’ll do some digging!

Many of the photos uploaded to the website are interactive - you can use a slider to see the before and after versions of the photos I have colourized. Colourization really makes such a huge difference!

Keep checking back as I will be frequently posting new colourized photos of Prince Rupert and other BC communities in the coming months!

Send me your favourite black & white photograph from the Prince Rupert City & Regional Archives or BC Archives, and I’ll colour it for free!
